Installation

LMDA Composer is a Chrome extension that provides a focused workspace for LogicMonitor script development. It works with Chrome, Edge, Brave, and other Chromium-based browsers.

Prerequisites

Before installing, ensure you have:

• Chromium-based browser — Chrome, Edge, Brave, or another compatible browser
• LogicMonitor access — A portal account with permission to run scripts on collectors

Installation

Chrome Web Store

The easiest way to install LMDA Composer:

1. Visit the LMDA Composer Chrome Web Store page
2. Click Add to Chrome
3. Click Add extension in the confirmation popup
4. The LMDA Composer icon appears in your toolbar

Pin the Extension

Click the puzzle piece icon in your toolbar, then click the pin icon next to LMDA Composer for quick access.

Developer Mode

Coming Soon

LMDA Composer is not yet open source, but we’re working on it! Once the source code is publicly available, you’ll be able to build from source and contribute.

For now, please install from the Chrome Web Store. Developer builds and contribution guidelines will be available once the project goes open source.

Verify Installation

After installing, you should see the LMDA Composer icon in your browser toolbar:

Click the icon to open LMDA Composer in a new tab.

Browser Compatibility

Google Chrome Supported

Full support for all features including File System Access API.

Microsoft Edge Supported

Full support for all features. Works identically to Chrome.

Brave Supported

Requires configuration

Supported with additional setup. Enable File System Access API:

1. Open brave://flags in a new tab
2. Search for “File System Access API”
3. Set it to Enabled
4. Restart Brave

Vivaldi Supported

Requires configuration

Supported with file access enabled:

1. Open vivaldi://extensions
2. Select “LMDA Composer”
3. Enable “Allow access to file URLs”

Firefox / Safari Not Supported

Not supported. LMDA Composer requires Chrome extension APIs (Manifest V3) not available in Firefox or Safari. Use Chrome or Edge for the best experience.
